Man In Court Charged After Choking Woman At Camden

A man is due in Campbelltown court today charged with multiple domestic violence offences, including the alleged choking of a woman.

Officers attached to Camden Police Area Command were called to a home in Spring Farm about 8.45pm on Thursday (11 July 2024), and found a 41-year-old woman with injuries to her throat.

She was taken to hospital for treatment and , a short time later, a 32-year-old man was arrested at a home in Eschol Park.

He was taken to Campbelltown Police Station where he was charged with two counts of stalk/intimidate intend fear physical harm, two counts of intentionally choke person with recklessness, and intentionally choke person without consent.

The man was refused bail by police and appeared before Campbelltown Local Court on Friday (12 July 2024), where he was formally refused bail to reappear before the same court today (Tuesday 16 July 2024).

Police will allege in court the man choked the woman on two separate occasions.
