A man is due to appear in Parramatta Bail Court today charged with domestic violence-related offences after a stand-off with police in Sydney's west yesterday.
Officers attached to Mt Druitt Police Area Command began searching for a 26-year-old man after he allegedly assaulted his partner at a home in Lethbridge Park about 6am (Friday 24 May 2024).
Acting on information, local police established a perimeter around a home in Stolle Street, Shalvey, and called in specialist assistance from the North West Metropolitan Operation Support Group (OSG), Public Order and Riot Squad (PORS), negotiators and the Tactical Operations Unit (TOU).
The man was arrested shortly before 12.30pm and was taken to Mt Druitt Police Station where he has now been charged with common assault, intentionally choke without consent, stalking / intimidation, and traffic offences.
He has been refused bail to appear in Parramatta Bail Court later today.
