Man In Court Over Phone Access

A man will appear in court today charged with failing to provide access to his phone.

On Friday 10 May, as part of an investigation into child exploitation material, detectives from the Special Crimes Investigation Section arrested a 23-year-old man from the southern suburbs and charged him with failing to comply with a Magistrate's Order to provide a password to access data held on his mobile telephone.

The man was refused police bail and will appear in the Adelaide Magistrates Court later today.

Since his arrest, further investigation has occurred, and it will be alleged child exploitation material was located on the man's mobile telephone.

Detective Senior Sergeant Amanda Lewis states, "This investigation is ongoing. I urge members of the public who have information which may assist police to contact the South Australia Police.

"Anyone in the community who needs to access support is encouraged to visit the ACCCE website – www.accce.gov.au - for a full list of available support services and contacts."
