Man in critical condition after crash at Hillston

A man is in a critical condition following a single-vehicle crash in the Murrumbidgee region yesterday.

About 10am (Sunday 6 June 2021), a Holden Commodore was found crashed through a fence on O'Briens Road, near the intersection of Square Well Lane, Hillston, by a passing motorist.

The driver, a 31-year-old man, had crawled out of the wreckage and was also found nearby.

NSW Ambulance paramedics attended and treated the man for several broken bones and internal bleeding, before he was airlifted to Canberra Hospital where he remains in a critical but stable condition.

Officers attached to Murrumbidgee Police District attended and examined the scene.

The crash is believed to have occurred between 2am and 3am yesterday.

Investigations are continuing to determine the cause of the crash.
