Man In Custody After Explosions, Fire At Gosford

A man has been arrested as an investigation continues into several explosions and a fire in Gosford yesterday afternoon.

About 2.20pm yesterday (Thursday 5 December 2024), emergency services were called to an office building on Donnison Street, Gosford, following reports of several explosions.

The building was evacuated, and no injuries were reported as a result of the explosions.

A short time later, police were called to a separate office building on Donnison Street following reports of a fire.

At the scene, police were told that a man entered the office before allegedly lighting a fire before leaving the scene.

A 54-year-old employee was treated by NSW Ambulance paramedics for smoke inhalation. No other injuries were reported.

Police from Brisbane Water Police District – assisted by specialist resources – established several crime scenes and have conducted inquiries into the incident under Strike Force Granollers.

Following extensive inquiries, police arrested a man at a home in Wallarah about 1.30pm today (Friday 6 December 2024).

The 66-year-old man has been taken to Wyong Police Station.
