A man is in hospital in a serious condition following a robbery in the city overnight.
Just after 3.30am on Saturday 26 December, patrols were called to Hindley Street after a man was found unconscious in Produce Lane. Police reviewed security vision which showed the man being approached by two other men before one the them punches him in the face causing the victim to fall to the ground hitting his head. Investigations led police to a nearby fast food restaurant where the pair were arrested.
A 36-year-old from Bordertown and a 32-year-old from Christie Downs, have been charged with aggravated robbery and are expected to be refused bail to appear in the Adelaide Magistrates Court on Tuesday 29 December.
The victim, a 53-year-old man from the Fleurieu Peninsula is currently in the Royal Adelaide Hospital in a serious but stable condition.
