A man has been seriously injured following a two-vehicle crash in the state's north east yesterday.
About 1.20pm on Thursday (3 February 2022), emergency services were called to the Kamilaroi Highway at Breeza – about 35kms west of Quirindi – following reports a ute and a truck had collided.
The driver of the ute – a 23-year-old man – suffered serious injuries and was airlifted to John Hunter Hospital in a serious condition.
The driver of the truck – a 54-year-old man – was uninjured and taken to Gunnedah Hospital for mandatory blood and urine testing.
A crime scene was established by officers attached to Oxley Police District which was forensically examined.
Inquiries into the circumstances surrounding the crash continue.
As inquiries continue, police are appealing for witnesses – including drivers with dashcam footage – to call Quirindi Police Station or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
