A man will face Court after being charged following an alleged hit and run crash at Doonside last night.
About 8.50pm Monday (18 March 2024), emergency services were called to Cygnus Close, Doonside, following reports of a neighbour dispute.
Officers attached to Blacktown Police Area Command arrived to find two people, a man and woman, with significant injuries.
The woman, aged 42, was treated by NSW Ambulance paramedics for serious head injuries and the man, aged 41, was treated for serious head, chest and leg injuries.
They were both taken to Westmead Hospital with the man in a critical condition and the woman in a serious but stable condition.
Police were told they were allegedly hit by an SUV.
Police established a crime and launched an investigation into the incident.
Following inquiries, police located a 29-year-old man nearby.
He was arrested and taken to Blacktown Hospital for precautionary reasons.
After being released from hospital, the man was taken to Blacktown Police Station where he was charged with five offences – use offensive weapon with intent to commit an indictable offence, cause grievous bodily harm to person with intent, assault occasioning actual bodily harm, fail to stop and assist after vehicle impact causing grievous bodily harm and dangerous driving occasioning grievous bodily harm – drive manner dangerous.
The man was refused bail to appear at Blacktown Local Court later today (Tuesday 19 March 2024)
