A police investigation is underway after a man's body was found at Johns River, approximately 36km south of Taree.
Police were called to the Pacific Highway, Johns River, about 5pm yesterday (Sunday 10 November 2024), following reports a body had been located.
Officers attached to Manning Great Lakes Police District attended and found a man deceased on a nature strip behind concrete barriers
He is yet to be formally identified, but is believed to be aged in his 30s.
A report will be prepared for the information of the Coroner.
A crime scene was established, with investigations into the circumstances surrounding the incident ongoing.
Police are appealing for witnesses to identify a man who was reportedly seen walking southbound on the M1 Pacific Motorway between Kew and Johns River on Thursday 7 November and Sunday 10 November.
