Gather your mothers, fathers, sisters, brothers , and best friends for a soul-stirring event that will leave you inspired, uplifted, and part of something truly magical.
We have gathered nearly 100 incredible women to take centre stage as part of 100 Women, 100 Stories, a moving community choir project. The event will also feature multi-award-winning singer and Rolling Stone Woman of the Year, Clare Bowditch.
Composed by six award-winning female musicians, this song cycle is inspired by the real-life stories of women from all walks of life.
The result? A celebration of harmony, connection, and the extraordinary strength of women.
Over one transformative weekend, participants will learn and rehearse a collection of powerful songs, culminating in a breathtaking performance on the stage of the Wonthaggi Union Theatre.
"This project is a powerful testament to the transformative role of arts, song, and culture in uniting communities and amplifying women's voices," said Mayor, Cr Rochelle Halstead.
"Through the universal language of music, 100 Women, 100 Stories celebrates the diversity, resilience, and shared experiences of women, while fostering a sense of connection and belonging. It's about more than just a performance-it's about inspiring change, honouring the stories that shape us, and creating a brighter, more inclusive future for all women and girls. We couldn't be more excited to see this magic unfold on stage at the Union Theatre, especially as part of our centenary celebrations," she said.
"We are delighted to be producing this event in partnership with Westernport Water, Phillip Island Nature Parks, and Bass Coast Health. We have a long association with these organisations and of celebrating International Women's Day together and acknowledging the women in our community."
An Afternoon of Celebration
To mark this special occasion, guests will be treated to a delightful afternoon tea, with drinks available for purchase from the bar. This event is about connection, community, and coming together to celebrate the power of women's voices.
