Two boaties were rescued yesterday after a wave washed them onto rocks at the Port of Brisbane.
Water Police were called at 10.30am to the rock wall on the northern side of Fisherman Island after a 4.3 metre Quintrex had been washed onto the wall.
Investigations indicate two men had been fishing while at anchor when a rogue wave from the wake of an unidentified cargo ship pushed their vessel onto the rock wall.
Subsequent waves continued to push the vessel up against the rocks where the boat remained tilted on its side.
One of the men, a 66-year-old Coorparoo man, was thrown from the vessel into the water and suffered minor leg injuries.
A passing boatie stopped to help the men.
Water Police arrived a short time later to assist a 72-year-old Greenslopes man from the stricken boat.
At 6pm, Water Police and Australian Volunteer Coast Guard attended the stricken vessel on the approaching high tide. They were able to recover and tow the vessel back to the Manly Coast Guard Base.
