Mark Morrison announced as the Ambassador for the 2025 Australia Day Awards
This Australia Day, you are invited to a celebration of connection, courage, and community at the 2025 Australia Day Awards and Citizenship Ceremony.
Taking place on Sunday, 26 January 2025, at the iconic Slim Dusty Centre, the event will honour local excellence, welcome new citizens, and reflect on what makes our region—and our nation—truly remarkable.
This year, we are delighted to announce Mark Morrison as the 2025 Australia Day Ambassador. Mark has dedicated his life to uplifting others, particularly the youth of the Macleay Valley.
A former principal of Macleay Vocational College, Mark has enriched our community through education, cultural collaboration with Elders, and coaching in elite-level Rugby League, among many other contributions. His unwavering commitment to inclusion, learning, and empowerment has left an indelible mark on our region.
Kempsey Shire Mayor Kinne Ring, Chair of the Australia Day Committee, expressed her excitement for Mark's role in the celebrations.
"I am very pleased that Mr. Morrison has accepted the Australia Day Ambassadorship for the 2025 Australia Day event," said Cr Ring.
"Mark Morrison is a valued and inspiring member of the Kempsey Shire community who has contributed so much to the lives of many in our community."
