Mitchell Shire Council today (15 April) announced the appointment of Mary Agostino as its new Chief Executive Officer, following an extensive and competitive recruitment process.
Ms Agostino has been serving as Interim CEO since December 2024 and brings a deep understanding of the organisation, the region and the aspirations of Mitchell's growing and diverse community.
Her appointment signals a fresh chapter for Council as it works to deliver on its long-term vision for sustainable growth, inclusive services and a stronger sense of community.
Mitchell Shire Mayor Councillor John Dougall said Ms Agostino was selected for her strategic leadership, deep local knowledge, and commitment to collaboration.
"Mary has demonstrated unwavering commitment to Mitchell Shire and a genuine passion for public service," Cr Dougall said.
"She brings an enterprising mindset, a strong sense of purpose and the kind of inclusive leadership that will help us deliver real results for our community."
