Murrindindi Shire Council is excited to announce the start of a 12-month trial for a new Marysville Recreational Vehicle (RV) Rest Stop, or short stay area on Saturday 1 February. With its stunning waterfalls, scenic walks and abundant natural beauty, combined with a vibrant tourism offering, this new trial provides self-sufficient travellers an inviting opportunity to explore our region.

Situated in Gallipoli Park Marysville, near the intersection of Falls Road and Mt Kitchener Avenue, this free, six-space site will accommodate fully self-contained recreational vehicles (RVs), with a maximum stay of 72 hours (three days). The trial will enable travellers to immerse themselves in Marysville's many attractions, natural beauty and charming local experiences. It will also evaluate the benefits and implications of introducing a short stay area for independent travellers.

This initiative, supported by Council and Gallipoli Park Precinct Committee of Management, was initially recognised as a key long-term project in the Marysville Community Plan 2020-2022. It aims to achieve 'RV Friendly' accreditation for Marysville through The Campervan and Motorhome Club of Australia.

We encourage short stay visitors to provide feedback on their stay through a quick survey to help measure the success of this initiative during the 12-month trial.
