Ben Wilson will be the new Chair of Homes Tasmania, as the Tasmanian Government looks to double down on its efforts to deliver more homes, faster.
Mr Wilson is one of the most impactful and influential leaders in Tasmania's building and construction, social services and community housing sector.
Minister for Housing, Planning, and Consumer Affairs, Felix Ellis, welcomed Mr Wilson as the new Chair, saying it marked a new era for Homes Tasmania.
"No one knows more about building homes in Tasmania than Ben Wilson," Minister Ellis said.
"Ben's a doer, through and through. He takes strong action, and he gets homes built.
"Ben delivered the largest capital works programs in social and affordable housing in Tasmania's history.
"I know he will lead Homes Tasmania with the same passion and determination.
"We are now 40 per cent of the way to reaching our 10,000 social and affordable homes by 2032 target, and with Ben at the helm we will deliver even more homes, faster."
Incoming Board Chair, Ben Wilson, said he looked forward to delivering homes for Tasmanians in need.
"I'm motivated by one thing - ensuring every Tasmanian has a roof over their head to lead a safe and secure life," Mr Wilson said.
"I'm thankful for the opportunity to Chair the Homes Tasmania Board, and I look forward to working closely with the building and construction industry to get homes built for Tasmanians."
