Northern Rivers Community Gallery (NRCG) Ballina will launch four exciting new exhibitions in May:
Map of Water | Rebecca Cook | BSA Graduate Award
Cook is the recipient of the 2019 Byron School of Art (BSA) Graduate Award.
She employs a rhythmic process of printing and stitching which result in formal arrangements. Her work has a comfort comparable to water.
Remembered Felt Imagined | Laura Tate, Marita Kohl & Kate Henson
Three artists working in distinct ways with a variety of mediums. They seek to find common ground in their differing approaches appealing to this idea in a wider communal sense.
Title (3) | Katie Cross
Cross explores how emotions, thoughts and past experiences interlace themselves and colour her current experience. The layers in her work represent aspects of self. At times these layers appear nonsensical or overwhelming, like the experiences she is articulating.
Culture Vultures | Bec King, Nathan Gooley, Madeleine Webster & Quinlyn Seikot
Culture Vultures is a group exhibition by artists from REDinc. Supported Art Studio, based in Lismore. The artists explore concepts of culture inspired by their heritage, popular culture and community. Through individual choice of media and subject they have portrayed what they determine as culturally important to them.
All exhibitions open Wednesday 5 May 2021 and continue until Sunday 27 June 2021. The official launch event is Thursday 13 May from 5.30pm – 7.30pm. Bookings are essential and may be made via the NRCG website. Sign up to NRCG E-news for ticket release date.
