The boldest ambitions of the Toowoomba Region's high school students are being put to the test in The Mayor's Telstra Innovation Awards 2023.
Toowoomba Region Mayor Paul Antonio said the awards were being conducted in collaboration with Telstra, the University of Southern Queensland, TAFE Queensland and Toowoomba & Surat Basin Enterprise.
"The competition challenges the brightest minds in our high school students studying STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) from years 9 to 12," Mayor Antonio said.
"We are challenging students to display their most innovative projects by unlocking their problem-solving potential to take their big ideas to the next level.
"The judges are looking for the next innovative idea or a new and creative use of an existing concept or technology in any field, ranging from social media, gaming technology to robotics, health, agriculture, security, conservation, construction, energy, or recreation.
