A man has been charged with multiple offences after a police car was allegedly rammed during his arrest in Sydney's south-west yesterday.
Officers attached to Fairfield City Police Area Command had been searching for a 34-year-old man after he allegedly removed an electronic monitoring device on Thursday 27 February 2025.
When the man was seen driving in Mays Hill about midday yesterday (Tuesday 4 March 2025), a pursuit was initiated during which police will allege a NSW Police vehicle was deliberately rammed.
The man was arrested and taken to Granville Police Station where he was charged with police pursuit (second or more offence), possess a prohibited drug, and use offensive weapon to prevent lawful detention, in relation to yesterday's arrest.
The man has also been charged with the outstanding warrant for five offences,
• Fire firearm in or near public place
• Possess loaded firearm public place
• Possess ammunition without holding licence/permit/authority
• Acquire etc pistol-subject to firearms prohibition order, and
• Police pursuit – not stop – drive dangerously.
He has further been charged with breach of bail in relation to the removal of the monitoring device.
The man has been refused bail to appear in Parramatta Local Court today (Wednesday 5 March 2025).
