Chair of the Murray-Darling Basin Authority (MDBA) Sir Angus Houston has welcomed the appointment of Ms Roseanne Healy to the Authority board.
"Ms Healy comes with extensive corporate management experience across agriculture, food and wine, technology and infrastructure sectors," Sir Angus said.
"She sits on the boards of the Grains Research and Development Corporation, Dairy Australia as well as the National Water Grid Authority so will be well informed about the intersection between food production and sustainable water management.
"She has over 20-years of experience and expertise in due diligence and corporate governance, strategy and investment analysis.
"As a South Australian, Ms Healy knows how important a healthy working river system is - from the north to the south.
"The MDBA has an important job of running the Murray River on behalf of Basin states and overseeing the largest water reform of its kind in the world - the Basin Plan.
"We also have our eye firmly on the future - our top priority is the wellbeing and resilience of the Basin's river system, its people and places.
"Ms Healy's corporate and governance expertise in agriculture and related industries, combined with her local knowledge will be a welcome addition to the knowledge and experience of our existing Authority members and the MDBA's leadership team," Sir Angus Houston said.
