MEDIA ADVISORY: Child dies in single-vehicle crash at Moulamein

Senior police will address the media after a child died in a single-vehicle crash in the state's Murray River Region yesterday.

Just after 12pm (Thursday 22 December 2022), emergency services were called to Moulamein Road, Moulamein – about 110km north-west of Deniliquin – after reports a vehicle had rolled.

Officers attached to Murray River Police District attended and located a Toyota Hilux with significant damage.

One of the passengers – a 6-year-old boy – died at the scene.

Another child – a 4-year-old boy – who was also travelling in the car, was treated by Ambulance paramedics from both NSW and Victoria, before being flown to Melbourne Children's hospital.

The driver – a 31-year-old man – was taken to hospital for mandatory testing.

A crime scene was established and examined by specialist police officers attached to the Crash Investigation Unit.

An investigation has commenced into the circumstances surrounding the crash.
