Megna Elected Mayor as New Term Begins in Canada Bay

Michael Megna has been elected as Mayor of the City of Canada Bay, leading a new look Council for the 2024-2028 term.

"I am truly honoured to have the community's support and trust in me as Mayor," said Mayor Megna. "I look forward to working collaboratively with our newly elected team to serve the needs of our residents."

Joining Mayor Megna are returning Councillors Anthony Bazouni, Andrew Ferguson and Charles Jago, along with Hugo Robinson, Maria Cirillo, David Mansford, Sylvia Alafaci and Mas Meuross, who have been elected as Councillors for the first time.

"I congratulate my fellow Councillors on their election," Megna said.

"Together, we will continue the City of Canada Bay's strong legacy as a Council that works together for our community and look for opportunities to enhance the quality of life in the City of Canada Bay now, and into the future as our local area continues to grow."

With a commitment to customer service and sustainable growth, Mayor Megna emphasised the importance of addressing key local services for residents.

"Our new Council will work with the State and Federal Government, as well as local stakeholders to ensure sustainable growth across our LGA, while continuing our organisation's strong focus on high quality local services and creating new opportunities to make our city a vibrant place to live."
