Melbourne Man Bags Lotto Win: Travel, Brand New Car

A Victorian family, steadfast in their lottery tradition, has finally struck gold in the weekend's Saturday Lotto $20 million Superdraw after more than half a century of playing the same numbers.

The Melbourne family syndicate held one of the 21 division one winning entries in TattsLotto draw 4489 on Saturday 27 July 2024. Each division one winning entry scored about $1 million ($952,380.96).

“I’m much better today than I was yesterday,” the family’s syndicate leader, an Airport West local,  declared when speaking to a lotto official.

“I checked this ticket on the website this morning and lucky I was sitting down!

“Would you believe our family have been using these numbers since the very first TattsLotto draw? They were first used by my parents and the family has kept playing the same numbers – they’ve never changed.

“All those years we’ve been playing and now they’ve been drawn. I’m just beside myself.

“It’s come at the right time. There are things we’d like to do that we can now do.

“For me, I’d like to do some travel, do some things around the house, and get a brand new car.

“It will just make life so much easier.”

The family’s winning marked System 8 entry was purchased on The Lucky Charm Airport West #2, Shop 142, Westfield Airport West, 29-35 Louis Street, Airport West.

The winning numbers in TattsLotto draw 4489 on 27 July 2024 were 4, 37, 45, 27, 11 and 20, while the supplementary numbers were 15 and 10.

Across Australia, there were 21 division one winning entries in TattsLotto draw 4489 – eight in Victoria, five in New South Wales, four in Queensland and two each in South Australia and Western Australia. You can find the details of this draw here: 21 Aussies Strike Gold In Saturday Lotto Superdraw.
