Melinda Schneider To Light Up Kempsey This September

Kempsey Shire Council

It's not every day that you get to see art and music blend in perfect harmony. But this September, Kempsey's art and music lovers are in for a treat. Picture this: an evening filled with colourful emotions, bold brushstrokes, and the sweet echo of country tunes lingering in the air.

Melinda Schneider, the six-time CMAA Golden Guitar Award winner, isn't just bringing her music to Kempsey. She's bringing her heart and soul to the Nulla Nulla Regional Art Gallery, with the launch of her stunning exhibition, Tender.

The launch event is free to attend and set in the Slim Dusty Centre, more than just an art event. It's a journey through Melinda's story, captured on plywood with all the grit and grace she's known for.

A little secret? Melinda's journey to becoming a painter was born out of something deeper than just a new hobby. After battling depression, she found herself drawn to the free-flowing strokes of Abstract Expressionism.

It's messy. It's imperfect. It's exactly what she needed to express herself without the polish her music career demanded.

Inspired by the likes of Rothko and de Kooning, she swapped her microphone for brushes, twigs, and even rags. And guess what? Her rhythm hasn't missed a beat.

Melinda's Tender exhibition is raw, it's real, and it's a celebration of vulnerability. The paintings, splashed with acrylic on plywood, speak of her journey through nature, mental health, and the spirituality she discovered on the Bouddi Peninsula.

If you're a lover of the arts or just someone seeking a fresh, inspiring evening out, circle the date. Register now for the September 27 event. Kicking off at 5pm this free event is sure to be a massive hit.

You won't just walk away having seen a painting—you'll leave having felt one.

If you can't join us for the official launch, 'Tender' by Melinda Schneider will be exhibiting at the Nulla Nulla Regional Art Gallery from:

Friday, 27 September through to Saturday, 23 November 2024

Entry is free for all.
