Two men have been charged after a flag containing an offensive symbol was displayed at Darlinghurst yesterday.
About 4.30pm yesterday (Thursday 6 February 2025) officers from Kings Cross Police Area Command were called to a hotel on Liverpool Street, Darlinghurst, following reports a man was displaying a flag showing a swastika symbol.
A short time later the 51-year-old man and another man – aged 44 – were arrested nearby and taken to Kings Cross Police Station.
The flag and several electronic devices were seized.
Both men have been charged with knowingly display by public act Nazi symbol without excuse.
They were refused bail to appear before Downing Centre Local Court later today (Friday 7 February 2025).
