– Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy
(Menparekraf), Sandiaga Salahuddin Uno, initiates an idea that the music community
existing in Mandalika can perform at the MotoGP 2022, G20 Summit's Side Events, and
other international events which will take place in the country.
One of the music communities that impresses Menparekraf Sandiaga was Mandalika
Ensamble, that played traditional sasak music. The music elements played were varied,
some from Europe, the Middle East, and America.
Menparekraf Sandiaga stated, the sub-sectors of music and performing arts have the best
talents that the government should facilitate with well-targeted, useful, and timely programs.
Therefore, the MOTCE organized an 'Aksilarasi' (Action in Synergy) activity at the NTB
Cultural Park, which has reached incubation stage II and takes place on February 18 to
March 3, 2022. This has an intention that the music created by the Indonesian generations
can have competitiveness and added value, so that it is ready to compete in the international
forum.
Moreover, Mandalika as the MotoGP 2022 venue event, is not only prepared in terms of
infrastructure and accommodation, but also the creative economy human resources. This
'aksilarasi' is the form of the MOTCE's commitment in pushing the tourism and creative
economy sector through local communities.
"We really see a tremendous potential from the music and performing arts sub-sectors, and
we see how this Mandalika Ensamble can combine so many musical elements from Europe,
the Middle East, and America. Therefore, this is a signal of our economic revival and this
can be shown as typical of Mandalika to welcome the MotoGP and G20," according to
Sandiaga, Saturday (19/2/22) evening.
These musical elements, according to Menparekraf Sandiaga, can be accompanied by
attractive stories, as they have their own peculiarities.
"In my opinion, the 'Gendang Beleq' (two-headed drum) is very distinctive for Mandalika,
and later we will make a story about MotoGP. A musical story created to the riders who
compete. We will also bring this to the G20 and its side events," he added.
Also attending the occasion, the Director of Music, Film, and Animation of the MOTCE,
Mohammad Amin; Director Destination II Development, Wawan Gunawan; Director of
Destination Management, Indra Ni Tua; Secretary Deputy for Resources and Institutions,
Riwud Mujirahayu; and Head of NTB Provincial Tourism Office, Yusron Hadi.
