Merry Christmas And Have Happy New Year

As we come together this Christmas season, it's time to reflect on what matters most – family, community, and joy.

To help spread the festive spirit, we have lit up our roundabouts and intersections with Christmas lights, brightening the journeys of residents and evening commuters. We also hosted the annual Light Up Christmas Facebook Competition, showcasing beautifully decorated homes across our City. Congratulations to our winners, and thank you to all who participated. We look forward to even more stunning submissions next year.

Council is once again offering an extra recycling bin collection from 23 December 2024 to 3 January 2025 to help you dispose of Christmas wrapping paper, food packaging, glass, and boxes. Be sure to check your waste calendars for the collection details.

Additionally, our new caddy bin liners, now available at leisure centres and libraries, feature handles, making it easier to manage your rubbish.

Don't forget to get your tickets for our Illuminate NYE event at Fairfield Showground from 5pm – 10pm on Tuesday, 31 December. It is a night of family-friendly fun, food, free rides and dazzling fireworks to welcome in 2025. Tickets are just $5 and are available at Illuminate NYE | Fairfield City Council (nsw.gov.au)

Throughout the summer, we have a variety of events and activities for families, so I encourage parents to explore what we have on offer and make the most of the holidays.

For more details on events and workshops visit: https://www.fairfieldcity.nsw.gov.au/Whats-on.

Please note, some of our services will be closed over the Christmas period, reopening early in the new year. For more information visit: fairfieldcity.nsw.gov.au/Contact-Us.

I wish you and your loved ones a merry Christmas and a safe, happy New Year. I am proud of what we have achieved together for the community and look forward to more to come.
