Please join me in offering a massive congratulations to the hard working City of Perth team in winning two national awards in the recent Australian Event Awards in Sydney.
The Rio Tinto Christmas Lights Trail was named best community event and the historic Perth Town Hall was named Venue of the Year.
The 2023 Rio Tinto Christmas Lights Trail was the biggest on record with half a million people - a 20 per cent increase on the previous year - enjoying the event across the Christmas season.
The event has also been important for City businesses attracting patrons to our bars, cafes and restaurants as well as people taking the opportunity to do their Christmas shopping while enjoying the trail.
Christmas truly does live in the City of Perth and no festive season is complete with a visit to enjoy our awarding-winning lights trail.
