Ports Minister David Michael has announced more than $115,000 of funding for 18 local organisations through the Mid West Ports annual Community Grants Program today.
The grants support projects and initiatives that enrich the local community, contributing to the region's liveability and vibrancy.
The Cook Government and Mid West Ports are proud to support these initiatives, which are largely driven by the dedication of volunteers.
Their efforts are instrumental in fostering a vibrant, inclusive and sustainable regional environment.
The 2024-25 grants round attracted 50 submissions, with Mid West Ports selecting 18 applications, distributing a total of $117,419.
These funds will support a diverse array of community festivals, youth engagement activities, local facility upgrades, environmental conservation efforts and public art installations.
The Mid West Ports annual Community Grants Program opens at the start of each year for projects in the following financial year.
As stated by Ports Minister David Michael:
"Local events and projects enhance liveability in our regional communities, fostering social cohesion, promoting local culture, boosting economic activity and providing opportunities for residents to engage, connect and take pride in their community.
"The program fuels the efforts of volunteers by providing the necessary financial resources for their initiatives.
"This support helps sustain volunteer motivation and engagement, which are essential for the continuous improvement and resilience of local communities."
