Mildura's New Sport Precinct Complete

Mildura's new sporting precinct is now open and ready to host national sporting competitions and showcase local talent, thanks to the support of the Allan Labor Government.

Minister for Community Sport Ros Spence today officially opened the Mildura Sporting Precinct which can now accommodate even more sports and fans with 500 extra stadium seats - made possible by a $13 million investment from the Labor Government.

The project has delivered a second oval with lighting, six-court indoor multi-sport stadium, four indoor squash courts, four outdoor volleyball courts and a cricket training facility - bringing players, fans and the local community together in the one precinct.

New change rooms, car parking and landscaping add to the state-of-the-art precinct which will act as a hub of sports activity in Mildura.

The precinct will be able to accommodate even more sporting competitions including state and national sports carnivals and major sporting competitions including AFLW, AFL, WBBL, BBL, WNBL and NBL preseason and season fixtures.

The precinct has been delivered in collaboration the Federal Government, Mildura Rural City Council, Cricket Australia, Cricket Victoria and the local community.

The Victorian Budget 2024/25 is investing more than $23 million to provide new and improved community sports infrastructure and initiatives that boost participation and inclusion in local sports clubs.

From playground redevelopments to new sporting hubs, investments like these provide high-quality and accessible places for Victorians to reap the benefits of sport and active recreation. These projects are all about creating jobs, stimulating local economies, and improving the health, wellbeing, and social outcomes for Victorian communities.

The Labor Government has invested more than $1.9 billion in community sport and active recreation since 2014, including more than $18 million invested in Mildura.
