- The third and fourth of Queensland's new free nurse-led clinics will open at Mt Gravatt and Gympie
- Both free, walk-in clinics will be open every day from 8am to 10pm and offer treatment for non-life-threatening injuries and illnesses.
- The Miles Government's $46 million investment towards the rollout of the clinics will improve access to healthcare for all Queenslanders, with a focus on the healthcare needs of women and girls.
Premier Steven Miles and Health Minister Shannon Fentiman have been joined by Mansfield MP Corinne McMillan, to announce a new nurse-led clinic will be delivered in Mt Gravatt.
Mt Gravatt will be the third location of a Miles Government nurse-led clinic, with a fourth to be delivered in Gympie.
The free nurse-led clinics, along with Satellite Hospitals and virtual EDs, are just some of the initiatives the Miles Government is delivering to help free up capacity in busy emergency departments, while providing cost of living relief for families.
From 30 September the free nurse-led clinics will be available for Queenslanders aged two and over for walk-in appointments, every day from 8am to 10pm.
The clinics will be staffed by highly qualified nursing staff who will be able to provide treatment and advice for a range of conditions.
The clinic will improve access to care for the local community for conditions and women's health care, such as:
- Conjunctivitis
- Colds and simple respiratory conditions
- Cuts, abrasions, bruises, and strains
- Suture of wounds subject to size, depth, and location of wound
- Simple gastroenteritis
- Skin conditions
- Simple limb injuries
- Urinary tract infections
- Women's health concerns
Patients who require care beyond the clinic's capabilities will be referred promptly to the most appropriate service, such as an emergency department, general practitioner, rapid access clinic, or mental health services.
This initiative forms part of the Miles Government $46 million commitment as part of its Queensland Women and Girls' Health Strategy 2032 to deliver four walk-in clinics in regions that need it most.
As stated by Premier Steven Miles:

"Very soon our third and fourth nurse-led clinics will soon open their doors, which will complement our nation-leading Satellite Hospitals and help ease the pressure on our busy emergency departments.
"Not only that, but they will also help provide tailored healthcare and support to women closer to home.
"It's something women and girls called for, and my government has delivered.
"Only my government will invest in the world-class healthcare Queenslanders need."
As stated by the Minister for Health, Mental Health and Ambulance Service and Minister for Women Shannon Fentiman:
"I'm so excited that communities of Mt Gravatt and Gympie will soon have access to this free healthcare service, closer to home.
"The clinics will be open for extended hours, every day of the week to ensure families have access to the healthcare they need.
"Not only will this boost access to treatment and care, it will also help to reduce demand on our emergency departments.
"We heard loud and clear from rural communities and thousands of Queensland women and girls who told us they need more options to access healthcare.
"We're committed to improving the health and wellbeing of Queensland families – and that's exactly what these clinics will do.
"The LNP have opposed these free nurse-led clinics that we know Queensland families need.
"David Crisafulli was part of the LNP government that viciously gutted Queensland's health system and we know if they had the chance, they'd do it all over again.
"Only the Miles Labor Government can be trusted to deliver healthcare, closer to home for Queenslanders."
As stated by Mansfield MP Corinne McMillan:
"I'm proud to be a part of the Miles Government which is delivering better healthcare for Mansfield.
"The new free Mt Gravatt nurse-led clinic will provide Mansfield residents with greater choice when it comes to accessing local healthcare. It will take pressure off our hospitals and general practitioners, making it easier for locals to receive treatment.
"The new nurse-led clinic will complement our community's new Eight Mile Plains Satellite Hospital which is now open and our hospital expansions at the QEII Hospital and the PA Hospital which are now underway.
"This is contrasted to the former LNP Government's approach to healthcare, which was to sack 926 health workers, including 299 nurses from our local hospitals."
