The Millmerran Waste Management Facility is set to reopen today, Friday 6 October from 1pm, following the clean-up of illegally dumped asbestos.
Toowoomba Regional Council (TRC) Water and Waste Portfolio Lead Cr Nancy Sommerfield said the facility would reopen with normal operating hours in place from 1pm.
"The public can again utilise the Millmerran WMF from 1pm today with contractors completing the clean-up of recently dumped asbestos.
"I urge all residents and businesses to do the right thing in the disposal of any waste and in particular waste such as asbestos.
"The clean-up of illegally dumped material comes at a significant cost to Council and the community, along with the closure of facilities while the clean-up occurs.
"I'm pleased this clean-up has occurred in a timely manner and the community can again continue to use the Millmerran WMF facility from 1pm today," Cr Sommerfield said.
