Ararat Gallery TAMA's Mini Makers Art Club is back from holidays, delivering fun and supportive workshops especially for kids on the first Tuesday of every month.
Mini Makers is designed for toddlers and preschoolers, and each session includes singing, story reading and a guided craft activity designed to develop creative expression and fine motor skills in a fun, inclusive and encouraging environment.
You can see the wonderful artworks which the busy little bees of Mini Makers created for summer display in Barkly Street Laneway, in the public exhibition titled Little Critters. The fledgling artists had a lot of fun celebrating the fascinating and curious world of insects and mini beasts, and their environments - including our own backyards!
This bright display of cheeky bugs features the works of 98 talented young artists from the Ararat community, through sessions in the Gallery and outreach visits to the 3- and 4-year-old groups at Ararat Early Learning Centre, Carey Street Kindergarten, Jack & Jill Kindergarten and St Andrews Kindergarten.
Mini Makers is free, and its next session is next week on Tuesday 4 March. TAMA warmly welcomes new families, and there is no need to book - simply come along from 11am - 12pm.
"It's such a joy to see the gallery come alive with children exploring their creativity," says Ararat Rural City Council Mayor, Cr Jo Armstrong. "Mini Makers is designed to spark young imaginations and nurture a love of art from an early age, and our wonderful facilitators at TAMA are absolutely expert in supporting and encouraging little artists. I highly recommend Mini Makers to all our local families with young kids, but especially newcomers! It's a fantastic way for parents to connect with community."
