MinterEllison has acted as lead counsel for New South Wales Treasury Corporation in its capacity as trustee of TCorpIM Unlisted Infrastructure Fund in relation to its initial US$100m investment in Singapore-headquartered Cyan Renewables for a 21% interest.
Cyan is the owner and operator of a specialised fleet of offshore vessels increasingly focused on servicing the global offshore wind industry and supporting the broader energy transition.
The MinterEllison team comprised transactional, energy and resources, maritime and funds lawyers and worked seamlessly on all aspects of the transaction which closed at the end of October.
The transaction builds on MinterEllison's long standing relationship with New South Wales Treasury Corporation a key firm client and reflects the firm's commitment to building its significant transactional credentials in the renewable energy sector and showcases MinterEllison's excellent multidisciplinary capabilities and depth of expertise.
The MinterEllison team was led by Partners Sebastian Rosholt and Siobhan Doherty.
Sebastian Rosholt said "We are proud to have assisted NSW Treasury Corporation with its strategic investment into the fast-growing global clean power sector. Our multi-disciplinary team assisted in executing a multi-jurisdictional transaction with novel features within a compressed timeframe, reflecting the firm's dedication to achieving outstanding outcomes for our clients."
