Missing jet skier located - Georges River

A jet skier missing in Sydney's south has been located safe and well this morning.

Just before 7pm yesterday (Friday 24 September 2021), emergency services were called to Hawkesbury Reserve Boat Ramp, Sylvania Waters, following reports of a missing jet skier.

Police were told the 27-year-old man was last seen on Georges River, Dolls Point, about 5pm and failed to return to Hawkesbury Reserve Boat Ramp as planned.

Officers attached to St George Police Area Command attended and with the assistance of Sutherland Police Area Command, PolAir and Botany Bay Water Police, conducted a search of the area through the night.

Just after 6am this morning (Saturday 25 September 2021), members of the public reported hearing a person calling for help in the vicinity of Towra Point Nature Reserve at Kurnell.

Officers from Botany Bay Water Police attended and located the man, suffering minor lacerations and exposure, in the mangroves.

He was returned to the base at Sans Souci and assessed by NSW Ambulance paramedics before being taken to St George Hospital.
