A man reported missing to officers from Mid North Coast Police District has been found safe and well.
The 76-year-old man was last seen at North Brother Mountain, Laurieton, about 2pm yesterday (Saturday 15 April 2023).
When he could not be located, officers attached to Mid North Coast Police District were notified and commenced inquiries into his whereabouts.
A co-ordinated multi-agency search of the area, with the assistance of personnel from the State Emergency Service (SES), Rural Fire Service (RFS), Fire and Rescue NSW, NSW Ambulance and PolAir was conducted, failed to locate the man on Saturday.
The multi-agency search resumed at 8.00am this morning (Sunday 16 April 2023), with the assistance of the Police Dog Squad, police trail bikes and Polair.
Just before 2.30pm, one of the missing man's family members located him in dense bushland on the south-eastern side of the North Brother Mountain.
Due to the steep terrain, the missing was winched from the scene by POLAIR to a waiting ambulance in Laurieton township, where he was assessed by NSW Ambulance Paramedics.
The missing man sustained only minor scratches and dehydration.
