Missing woman and men found - NSW/Victoria border found

Two men and a woman missing near the border of NSW and Victoria have been found safe and well following a large-scale search operation.

About 8.45pm on Sunday (17 October 2021), emergency services were called to Perricoota State Forest following reports that a man and woman had become lost while travelling along the Murray River.

Officers from Murray River Police District, together with PolAir, the Volunteer Rescue Association, State Emergency Service (SES) and NSW Forestry, conducted a coordinated search of the area today (Monday 18 October 2021).

During the search, police became aware that a third person – a 58-year-old man – was also missing with the group.

About 3:25pm today (Monday 18 October 2021), the woman and two men were located walking on Burrumbarry Road, Wamboota near Perricoota State Forrest by NSW Forestry staff.

They were assessed by NSW Ambulance as a precaution, however there were no reported injuries.
