Top international model, body diversity advocate and lifelong equestrian, Georgina Burke is proud to support the KIDS Foundation as its Global Ambassador for Tour d'Horse 2025, the major fundraising event for the charity.
The New York-based model grew up on the outskirts of Brisbane, where horses were part of her family's everyday life. Georgina even worked at a saddlery store to fund the plane ticket for her first international modelling trip to London when she was 19.
Since that first trip, Georgina's career has seen her front the campaigns of a myriad of global brands, including Ralph Lauren and Seafolly. And while she has now been based in New York for over 15 years, Australia will always be home.
A passionate body positivity champion, and equestrian in her downtime, Georgina said she is excited to combine her long-held love of horses and voice to get behind the work of the KIDS Foundation and support the fundraising efforts of Tour d'Horse.
"When I heard about the life-changing programs the KIDS Foundation do to help young people and their families heal and thrive following the impact of significant trauma, I knew I wanted to help. Combine that with my passion for horses, I booked my flights home immediately. I cannot wait to get back to Australia to be part of this year's Tour d'Horse," Georgina said.
"Tour d'Horse is going to be an extraordinary endurance ride on horseback, but I am under no illusion that this will be easy. From all accounts it will be a tough six days in the saddle, navigating the rugged terrain of the Hunter Valley but the challenge, and no doubt the discomfort, will be nothing compared to what the people we are riding for have been through. I will be riding for them not only to raise funds but to also honour the courage of the young survivors and celebrate the inspirational work by the KIDS Foundation."
Led by Founder and CEO Dr Susie O'Neill OAM, the KIDS Foundation has been transforming lives for over 30 years, delivering trauma and injury prevention, rehabilitation, and resilience-building initiatives.
