Police are now in a position to release the names of two people who died following a crash on State Highway 1 near Moerewa yesterday.
They were Maudie Dianne Pickering, aged 64, and Iharaira Trevon Maxi Hoterene-Rakete, aged 25.
Both were from the Whangārei area.
Northland Police extend their thoughts and sympathies to their friends and whānau for their loss.
The Police investigation into the crash, which occurred at around 9.45pm on 1 February, remains ongoing at this time.
