Moira Shire Council 2023/24 Annual Report Now Available

Moira Shire Council's 2023/24 Annual Report was endorsed at the October Scheduled Council Meeting and is now available for public viewing online.

The report highlights Council's achievements, challenges, and key activities throughout the 2023/24 financial year, reflecting on the progress made during the third year of the 2021-2025 Council Plan.

The Annual Report also provides a full account of Council's financial management during the previous financial year.

Key highlights acknowledged in the 2023/24 Annual Report include progressing flagship projects, such as the Yarrawonga Library, Events and Performance Precinct, the Numurkah Flood Levy, and the Yarrawonga Multisport Stadium.

Several key projects were also completed during the past year, including the Cobram Apex Park carpark and landscaping works, Numurkah Recreation Reserve lighting upgrades, Yarrawonga Splash Park extension, Strathmerton Walking Track, and the Cullens Road Boat Ramp Extension in Yarrawonga.

In the 2023/24 service year, Council supported 56 local groups through its Community Strengthening Grants program. A total of 4,446 vaccines were administered, and 3,553 consultations were conducted through the Maternal and Child Health service. In animal services, 170 domestic animals found new homes, while 4,680 dogs and 1,262 cats were registered in the shire. Additionally, Council maintained 3,662 km of roads, 212 km of footpaths, and 320 km of kerb and channel throughout the municipality.

Chair Administrator Dr Graeme Emonson PSM welcomed the release of the Annual Report.

"The Annual Report is one of the key transparency documents produced by Council, alongside our Budget and Council Plan. It provides a comprehensive overview of Council's achievements for the past year, all aimed at benefiting the Moira Shire community," said Dr Emonson.

"The information presented demonstrates the breadth of services delivered for the community, from immunisations and waste management to road and bridges, recreation facilities and community grants. It is a testament to the hard work done in 2023/24, and we look forward to continuing to further enhance services whilst laying a strong foundation for Moira's future."
