Moira Shire Council is excited to be supporting Victoria Police to introduce Local Safety Forums across our district as a positive step towards a safer, stronger community.
These forums will be a chance for residents to hear from Victoria Police and other agencies in response to concerns raised, and to work together on important issues like crime prevention, road safety, and community well-being.
Moira Shire Council Chair Administrator Dr Graeme Emonson PSM said the forums encouraged open conversation between residents, the police and Council to build trust, share ideas, and find solutions.
"The Local Safety Forums are open to everyone, and they provide an opportunity for Council and Victoria Police to engage at a local level with the community," Dr Emonson said.
"It's an opportunity for members of the community to talk about what's important to them, as well an opportunity for Victoria Police and Council to understand what the community are seeing and feeling in terms of community safety and local issues."
By participating, you can help shape safety plans that protect and support residents in Moira Shire.
Four sessions will be held across the district in 2024, offering residents the chance to be involved.
