Molonglo Becomes Canberra's Sixth Town Centre

NCA

The suburb of Molonglo has been reclassified under the National Capital Plan as Canberra's sixth Town Centre to support the ongoing development of the area, which is expected to accommodate 70,000 people by 2050.

The reclassification takes effect following stakeholder and public consultation in May and June.

It recognises that the projected population of Molonglo will result in additional demand for services and amenities and warrant a Town Centre to serve as the commercial hub for the district.

The reclassification was advanced following a request from the ACT Government.
