EPA Victoria is continuing its war on illegal waste dumping fining a company that refused to provide information in relation to a waste dumping case dating back to late 2024.
In January this year, Monash Bin Hire was issued a Waste Information Gathering Notice, requiring information be provided within a designated time.
EPA Officers conducted an investigation into waste that was dumped in a residential area in Sunshine West and Monash Bin Hire was asked to name the sub-contractor they claimed they engaged to transport the waste.
However, Monash has failed to provide the information and has been slapped with a $1,976 fine and is still required to provide the information.
"We're committed to battling illegal waste dumping which has become a blight across the state but particularly in our area," said EPA West Metropolitan Regional Manager Jeremy Settle.
"Monash has an obligation to provide the information legally requested by EPA to further its investigation. Their refusal has opened them to a fine and further investigation."
