Monash Shines in Latest Rankings Round

Monash University

Monash University has achieved strong results in the ShanghaiRanking Global Ranking of Academic Subjects (GRAS) 2024 and the Australian Financial Review Best Universities Ranking 2024, released this week.

Four of the University's subjects placed within the top 10 globally and 15 in the top 50, while seven subjects ranked first in Australia.

Monash ranked among the top 10 universities globally in the following areas: Business Administration (3rd), Pharmacy & Pharmaceutical Sciences (5th), Mining & Mineral Engineering (6th) and Education (8th).

Monash placed first in Australia for Business Administration, Education, Finance, Law, Mining & Mineral Engineering, Pharmacy & Pharmaceutical Sciences and Sociology.

AFR Best Universities Ranking 2024

Monash has also improved its position in the Australian Financial Review Best Universities Ranking 2024, placing equal third in Australia (up from fourth in 2023) and maintaining the top spot in Victoria for the second consecutive year.

The University achieved an overall score of 79, with top-5 rankings across three of the four criteria including equity, career and research.

The results follow the University's strong performance in global rankings released earlier this year including the QS World University Rankings 2025 (37th) and the US News and World Report Best Global Universities Rankings 2024-25 (35th).
