Monash Tops Australia With $49M ARC Discovery Grants

Monash University

Over $49m in research funding has been awarded to 72 Monash University research projects in the latest Australian Research Council (ARC) Discovery Projects scheme.

Research investigating safer AI, sustainable cities, and healthy ageing are just some of the funded projects, which cross STEM and HASS disciplines.

The ARC Discovery Projects scheme supports excellent basic and applied research and research training. It supports researchers to achieve economic, commercial, environmental, social and cultural benefits for Australia.

Interim Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Research) and Senior Vice-President, Professor Mike Ryan, said the results reflect Monash's strengths in research across many fields and would enable groundbreaking research discoveries.

"We have a wide range of talent at Monash across many disciplines and this also really speaks to the importance and strength of discovery research. Thank you to the Australian Research Council for its continued support and congratulations to all the Chief Investigators and research teams involved.

The full list of Monash recipients are below. Details on their research projects can be found here.
