Moo Baa Munch Back in Toowoomba, Engages 1000+ Youth

Toowoomba, Queensland - October 22-23, 2024 - More than 1,000 primary and secondary students and teachers will experience the exciting world of agriculture firsthand at the Moo Baa Munch event in Toowoomba on October 22 and 23. Organized by AgForce's School to Industry Partnership Program (SIPP), this immersive two-day event aims to educate young minds about the essential role agriculture plays in everyone's lives, from the origins of our food and fibre to the diverse and innovative career paths the industry offers.

Moo Baa Munch will bring agriculture to life through interactive exhibits, demonstrations, and activities designed to show the entire process of food and fibre production. Students will learn where their food comes from, how it's produced, and the technological advances transforming the industry into a field of limitless opportunities.

"Events like Moo Baa Munch are vital for our young people. They get to see the industry up close, discover how diverse agriculture truly is, and understand the crucial role it plays in sustaining us all," said Tanya Nagle, AgForce GM Media and Community Engagement. "We want students to walk away with a real appreciation for agriculture and to see it as a vibrant, innovative industry that offers a job for everyone, no matter their interests or skills."

The Moo Baa Munch event will feature a wide range of agricultural sectors, including livestock, cropping, horticulture, and more. Students will learn about the high-tech innovations being used in today's farms, from precision agriculture to drone technology, as well as the importance of sustainable practices in ensuring future food security.

"It's essential for our next generation to understand where their food and fibre come from and how these resources make it to their tables and wardrobes," added Tanya. "Agriculture is so much more than farming - it's a technologically advanced and essential industry with a huge variety of career paths. Moo Baa Munch is a great way to introduce students to the many options available to them, whether they want to work hands-on with livestock or be involved in cutting-edge research and development."

Through Moo Baa Munch, AgForce's SIPP hopes to inspire a new wave of interest in agriculture and to connect young Queenslanders with the endless possibilities available to them in the industry.
