Gather your crew and head along to Peter Scullin Reserve in Mordialloc this weekend for Mordi Fest 2024.
The Mordi foreshore is set to come alive with two days of non-stop music, gourmet food, regionally made wine and Melbourne craft beers. Throw in roving performers and kids' activities, and we have your family-friendly fun covered.
Crowd favourites The Vanns, Teen Jesus and the Jean Teasers, Tim Rogers and the Twin Set, and Pierce Brothers are set to headline an awesome line-up of local and international artists performing across four stages. Festival goers can enjoy the sights and sounds of the main Pier Stage, the Beach Stage, The Dock and for those who need a quick breather from the festival hustle and bustle, the alcohol-free Freeza Chill-out Zone run by Kingston Youth Services is a great option.
For the first time there will also be a Sensory Zone, a space that can offer respite for those who may become overwhelmed by the sensory stimulation of the festivities. Equipped with soothing lighting, comfortable seating, and calming ambiance, it provides a sanctuary where individuals can regroup, recharge, and rejoin the festival at their own pace.
Kingston Mayor Jenna Davey-Burns said Mordi Fest is all about fun, connection, and celebration.
"I always look forward to this event every year - great vibe, great tunes, great food – that's my kind of weekend!" Cr Davey-Burns said.
Melaleuca Ward Councillor Tim Cochrane said we can't wait to welcome back everyone who has experienced Mordi Fest in the past and to those who haven't been before, I'd say - just do it, you definitely won't be disappointed.
"This is the premier event on our calendar, and we'd love to see a huge crowd enjoying the very best our region and beautiful Mordialloc has to offer," Cr Cochrane said.
Check out the smorgasbord of delicious gourmet food options, with many of Melbourne's favourite food vans and restaurants locked in. There will be vegan, vegetarian, gluten-free and halal options available as well and if you have special dietary requirements, please check with the vendors about their menu options.
Mordi Fest will run in Peter Scullin Reserve on Saturday 2 March (11am – 10pm) and Sunday 3 March (11am – 7pm) and with entry just $5 per person or $10 for a family there is no better value in Melbourne.
