More Homes In Melbourne's South East

VIC Premier

The Allan Labor Government is getting on with delivering more homes in the south east as Olio in Officer and Coomoora in Springvale South reach significant development milestones.

Civil works have begun at Olio in Officer to prepare for the construction of 135 homes as part of Stage 2 of the project, adding to the 93 homes that are already being delivered as part of Stage 1.

Built by Sienna Homes, 35 homes are already officially complete as part of Stage 1 with the final homes for this stage set to be completed in late 2024.

In the growing area of Springvale South all townhouses and land lots are now sold out in the Coomoora development, which offers a mix of land only lots and townhouses, as well as high quality community open space to enjoy.

Construction of the 47 townhouses is well progressed, with Creation Projects appointed to deliver these new homes on behalf of Development Victoria.

The 16 land lots have been sold to individual purchasers who will engage their own builders to construct their homes.

A key attraction of Olio and Coomoora is the Priority Access scheme which increases the supply of homes suitable to various budgets by allowing those eligible for affordable housing a chance to purchase homes before they are offered to the general public.

A range of buyers have been attracted to Olio and Coomoora, including first home buyers, growing families and downsizers, thanks to the diverse and affordable housing options on offer and the convenient locations.

The development of the sites meets the Government's objective of delivering homes of varying size and price to cater for different lifestyles and budgets close to jobs, services, and transport options.

As stated by Minister for Development Victoria Colin Brooks

"Progress at important housing developments such as Olio and Coomoora is advancing, delivering on our promise to create more housing opportunities across Victoria over the next decade."

"These projects are about increasing access to affordable housing so more Victorians can live close to transport, jobs, schools and services."

As stated by State Member for Clarinda Meng Heang Tak

As stated by Member for Pakenham Emma Vulin
