A Queensland mum is looking forward to a cool and carefree summer, after securing a breezy win in the weekend’s Saturday Gold Lotto.
This latest draw saw a remarkable distribution of the jackpot among 13 winners nationwide, including four winners each from Queensland and Victoria, two from New South Wales, and one each from Tasmania, South Australia, and Western Australia. Each lucky ticketholder secured $401,209.07, an equal slice of the $5 million top prize.
“I’m shaking!” the woman from Warwick cried when a lotto official called to confirm her prize.
“I only just found out, and I can’t believe it!
“This is more money than I’ve had my whole life.
“I’ve been playing these numbers for years – they’re family birthdates.
“I usually check my Gold Lotto ticket when I get up on a Sunday morning, but this time I got distracted.
“Then I thought I hadn’t checked it. After I did, I had to get my family to check I wasn’t seeing things.
“I’ve got no idea what I’ll do with the prize just yet, but I won’t worry about turning on the AC so much this summer!”
The woman’s winning marked System 8 entry was purchased at Hynes Newsagency, 110 Palmerin Street, Warwick.
The winning numbers in Saturday Gold Lotto draw 4509 on 5 October 2024 were 13, 30,18, 24, 27 and 15, while the supplementary numbers were 41 and 26.
Across Australia, there were 13 division one winning entries in Saturday Gold Lotto draw 4509 – four each in Queensland and Victoria, two in New South Wales, and one each in Tasmania, South Australia and Western Australia.
