More Travel Options To Commemorate Anzac Day

SA Gov

Current and former military personnel will be able to travel for free across Adelaide's public transport network tomorrow to commemorate Anzac Day, while additional services will give South Australians paying their respects more transit options.

Extra services to and from dawn service events in the Adelaide CBD and Glenelg will be made available for travellers, with special bus services operating to transport members from local RSL clubs to the city for the Anzac Day March.

A free Digger Shuttle will run between the National War Memorial on North Terrace and Victoria Square following the march.

Shuttle services will run every 15 minutes between 12:30pm and 1:30pm.

Current and former Defence personnel can access free travel by wearing their uniform or service medals, or by presenting a Veteran Card.

The State Government encourages South Australians to pay their respect by attending their local dawn service and other Anzac Day events.

Those using public transport to attend events are encouraged to plan their journey at adelaidemetro.com.au.

As put by Joe Szakacs

Anzac Day is one of the most important days on our calendar.

That is why we're making it easier for South Australians to attend local commemorative events and offering free public transport to current and former servicemen and servicewomen.

It's important we recognise the service and sacrifice Australian Defence personnel and their families have made throughout our nation's history.

Lest we forget.
