Northern Territory Police are responding to a serious single vehicle crash on the Central Arnhem Highway near Beswick, approximately 10 kilometres from Maranboy.
Due to the remote location of the crash, very little information is available at this stage however it has been reported that one person has died.
It is possible that the vehicle contained four occupants.
Police will be investigating if alcohol was a factor in this collision and if seatbelts were worn.
The Major Crash Investigation Unit has been deployed from Darwin and will investigate the circumstances surrounding the crash upon their arrival in approximately four hours.
The call was made from a passer-by to the Joint Emergency Services Coordination Centre in Darwin at 12:20pm via a satellite phone.
Motorists are advised to be aware of road closures and to expect delays in the area.
